1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of jmappliances.ca and any purchase you make from us. By placing an order you agree to them. Please read them before you buy.
This website is operated by JM Appliances, a trading name of JM APPLIANCES INC., Ontario Corporation Number 1000898969, whose registered address is Unit 15, 1275 Morningside Ave, Scarborough, Ontario M1B 3W1, Canada. GST/HST registration 736060757RT0001.
2. Who we are
JM Appliances sells home appliances, televisions, audio equipment and small appliances from our store at Unit 15, 1275 Morningside Ave, Scarborough, and online at jmappliances.ca.

3. Products and product condition
Our inventory includes brand-new, open-box and manufacturer-refurbished products. The condition of every product is stated on its product page. Please read our Product Condition Policy, which explains what each condition means for packaging, warranty and returns.
We describe every product as accurately as we can, and product images are intended to represent the model you are buying.
4. Prices
All prices are shown in Canadian dollars and exclude HST. Ontario HST at 13% is calculated and added at checkout. Delivery and shipping charges are additional and are shown before you complete your order.
We take care to ensure that all prices are accurate. If we discover an error in the price of a product you have ordered, we will contact you to ask whether you wish to continue at the correct price or cancel. We will not charge you more than the price displayed when you placed your order without your agreement.
5. Placing an order
When you place an order you will receive an acknowledgement email. That email confirms we have received your order; it does not mean we have accepted it. A contract is formed when we confirm that your order has been accepted and is ready for delivery or collection.
We may decline an order if the product is no longer available, if there is a pricing error, if your delivery address falls outside our service area, or if we are unable to verify your payment.
You do not need an account to place an order; you may check out as a guest.
6. Payment
We accept payment through Stripe, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Google Pay is available at checkout.
Payment is taken at the time you place your order.
7. Delivery
We deliver items under 30 kg across Canada, and large home appliances within the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions listed in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Delivery is carried out by independent third-party delivery companies and shipping carriers. Once an order is handed over to a carrier or delivery provider, the transportation and delivery process is subject to that provider's operating procedures and service conditions. We will make reasonable efforts to assist you with delivery enquiries, tracking, scheduling and shipment-related concerns.
8. Risk and title
Risk in the products passes to you on delivery. Title in the products does not pass to you until we have received payment in full.
9. Returns and refunds
Factory-sealed products may be returned within 30 days, including where you have changed your mind, subject to a 25% restocking fee. Products that are defective, damaged on arrival or incorrect are refunded in full.
Open-box products, floor models, ventilation products, microwave ovens and accessories are final sale other than for manufacturing faults. Full terms are set out in our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Warranty
Brand-new products carry the manufacturer's warranty. Open-box products carry a 1-year JM Appliances warranty covering parts and labour. Refurbished products carry a 30-day in-store JM Appliances warranty. Full terms are set out in our Warranty Policy.
11. Acceptable use of this website
When using this website, you must not:
- Use it for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, or any connected system
- Introduce viruses, malware or any other harmful material
- Copy, reproduce or republish any part of the site except as permitted by law
- Use any automated system to scrape, harvest or extract data from the site
- Impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation
- Submit false, misleading or defamatory reviews or content
12. Intellectual property and brands
The content of this website, including text, layout and graphics, is owned by or licensed to us.
Brand names, trademarks and product images belong to their respective owners. We are an authorised dealer for Electrolux, Frigidaire, Amana, KitchenAid, Whirlpool, JBL, Harman Kardon, Maytag and Vesta Kitchen. Other brands we carry are sourced through authorised distribution channels; we are not an authorised dealer for those brands.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Canadian or Ontario law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 and the Sale of Goods Act.
Subject to that, we are not liable for:
- Loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of anticipated savings
- Loss of data
- Any indirect or consequential loss
- Loss or damage caused by your failure to prepare the delivery location, including inadequate access, stairways or doorways
- Loss or damage arising from installation carried out by you or by a third party
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario. Any dispute will be subject to the courts of Ontario.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page at the time you place your order.
